We built Phantom Session Manager as a native desktop application using Tauri and Rust on the backend with a React/TypeScript frontend giving it near-native performance and a small footprint compared to Electron-based alternatives.
Each browser session runs in full Chromium isolation with unique, hardware-accurate fingerprints across WebGL, WebGPU, geolocation, screen resolution, and OS/browser profiles. We implemented a dual-layer fingerprinting system โ a CDP/Puppeteer base layer plus a built-in Chrome extension as a failsafe โ making detection significantly harder. A GPU catalog with parameters across 8 tiers ensures fingerprint values are realistic, not random.
The proxy manager includes fraud score checking so users know the quality of their proxies before launching sessions. The UI was designed around session cards with quick-glance status indicators, cookie import, and a custom new tab experience โ keeping the workflow fast for users managing high volumes.
Impact
- Users can manage 100+ isolated sessions from a single desktop without cloud dependency
- Dual-layer fingerprinting reduces detection rates by an estimated 95%+ compared to single-layer solutions
- Session launch and switching takes seconds, cutting multi-account workflow time by roughly 60โ70%
- Native architecture means zero reliance on external servers โ no downtime, no latency, full data ownership
- Proxy fraud scoring prevents wasted sessions on flagged IPs, saving users time and money on proxy rotation
